Overview Albany Medical College seeks a board‑certified/board‑eligible Colorectal Surgeon for day shifts in Albany, NY. The role requires an MD or equivalent, board eligibility or certification in colon and rectal surgery, a completed colorectal fellowship, and eligibility for a New York medical license. Responsibilities Perform full spectrum of elective and emergent colon‑rectal surgery, including inflammatory bowel disease, ano‑rectal disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, diverticulitis, colon cancer, and multidisciplinary rectal cancer treatment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners such as gastroenterologists, geneticists, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, urogynecologists, and urologists. Utilize state‑of‑the‑art technology including the da Vinci Xi surgical robot; conduct robotic and endoscopic procedures. Educate medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers within a teaching hospital environment. Participate in the academic mission of education, quality improvement, and research. Maintain a surgical case log demonstrating current active experience. Qualifications Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery. Exceptional skill in robotic surgery and endoscopic procedures. Active New York medical license or eligibility. Ability to work team‑oriented with residents, fellows, physicians, and administration.
