Job Title: Patient Care Technician

Schedule: 5x8 Days (8 hrs) | All Shifts Available

Location: Bronx, New York, 10456

Duration: 13-Week Contract

Pay Range: $21/hr - $24/hr W2

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join an inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry unit caring for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral and mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have prior psychiatric and pediatric experience and be passionate about providing patient-centered care in a therapeutic environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and support in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Perform patient safety checks and 15-minute observations.
• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient behavior and condition.
• Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic activities.
• Perform EKGs and phlebotomy as needed.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and structured environment for patients.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Float to other behavioral health units when required.
• Common diagnoses include ADHD, depression, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, intellectual disabilities, and substance use history.

 

Patient Population

• Children (5-11 years old)
• Adolescents (12-17 years old)

 

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Psychiatric/Behavioral Health experience (required)
• Pediatric clinical experience (required)
• Active PCT certification (required)
• AHA BLS certification (required)
