Technical Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer based in the United States.

The Technical Solutions Engineer will bridge technical engineering expertise and strategic business development to design secure, scalable, and innovative digital solutions. In this role, you will translate complex client requirements into practical technical architectures while supporting proposal development, solution design, and engineering initiatives. Working closely with growth, engineering, product, design, and delivery teams, you will help shape technical responses to government, nonprofit, and commercial opportunities. You will leverage your expertise in cloud infrastructure, software development, networking, Linux systems, and information security to address technical challenges and demonstrate solution feasibility. The position offers a dynamic mix of client-facing technical strategy and hands-on engineering within a distributed, remote-first environment. Accountabilities:

Technical Solution Design:

Serve as a subject-matter expert on technical capabilities and service offerings, analyzing client requirements, project objectives, and constraints to develop scalable, secure, and effective technical solutions. Proposal Development and Technical Reviews:

Collaborate with growth and engineering teams to review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitation materials, ensuring technical responses are accurate, compelling, feasible, and aligned with client needs. Capture and Business Development Support:

Partner with capture managers and other stakeholders to develop technical narratives, proposal content, presentation materials, and supporting documentation that address client requirements and overcome technical objections. Cloud Architecture and Infrastructure:

Contribute to the design of secure, scalable systems using major cloud platforms, containerization technologies, orchestration tools, and modern deployment workflows. Security and Compliance:

Incorporate security principles, authentication and authorization mechanisms, encryption standards, and enterprise compliance requirements into proposed architectures and engineering solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work across growth, engineering, product, design, research, and delivery teams to align technical approaches with business objectives, user needs, and implementation capabilities. Hands-On Engineering:

Support internal engineering projects and contribute to the design and development of technical solutions for proposals, demonstrations, oral presentations, and technical challenges. Technical Communication:

Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations for non-technical stakeholders, clients, partners, and internal decision-makers. Process Improvement:

Identify gaps in collaboration and delivery workflows, recommend improvements, and help strengthen coordination between business development, engineering, and delivery functions. Continuous Learning and Onboarding:

Develop a strong understanding of internal tools, documentation, processes, and active business opportunities, progressively assuming greater responsibility for technical solution development and presentation. Security and Professional Standards:

Maintain reliable internet access for remote work, safeguard sensitive company and client information, represent the organization professionally, and participate in occasional in-person meetings, workshops, or training sessions as required. Requirements:

Professional Experience:

At least five years of professional experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, full-stack engineering, or a related technical role involving collaboration across product, design, research, and business development teams. Technical Architecture and Solution Engineering:

Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures, deployment workflows, and practical implementation strategies. Cloud Platforms:

Strong understanding of major cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Containers and DevOps:

Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as modern continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Information Security and Compliance:

Strong knowledge of security principles, encryption standards, enterprise authentication and authorization protocols, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST SP 800-53. Identity and Access Management:

Familiarity with single sign-on (SSO), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), OpenID Connect (OIDC), role-based access control (RBAC), and related identity management technologies. Programming and Technical Tools:

Experience with APIs and programming languages or technologies such as TypeScript and Python is advantageous. Familiarity with Active Directory and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) is also beneficial. Communication and Collaboration:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Candidates may use assistive technology to support effective communication. Strategic and Analytical Thinking:

Strong problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to evaluate competing approaches, address technical objections, and develop solutions aligned with client and business objectives. Cross-Functional Project Experience:

Experience collaborating across engineering, product, design, research, growth, and delivery teams to support solution development and successful project execution. Preferred Industry Experience:

Experience working in startup environments, including pre-seed through Series A, B, C, and later stages, is strongly preferred. Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in product management or product delivery, relevant certifications such as AWS, GCP, Azure, CCNA, CCDA, Security+, Network+, CISSP, or CSP, and a willingness to pursue further certifications are advantageous. Work Authorization and Location:

Must reside full-time in the contiguous United States and be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without employer sponsorship. Competitive Annual Salary:

Published annual salary range of $150,235.80 to $169,146.60, based on three defined competency tiers. Placement depends on demonstrated experience and proficiency, and the corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable. Fully Remote Work:
