Full-Time Faculty Position in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Our organization is excited to announce an opening for a full-time faculty role on the Clinical Educator Track (CET) for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Applicants are required to have completed a fellowship accredited by ASOPRS or an equivalent program. The anticipated academic rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher, with the final rank, tenure status, and salary determined based on experience and qualifications.

We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative oculoplastic surgeon to enhance our thriving practice and address the increasing demand in the region. This role provides opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with specialists in ENT, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Trauma, and Maxillofacial Surgery. Our facilities include well-equipped minor operating rooms at both the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge.

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical institution
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in ophthalmology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
• Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in Illinois
• Proven excellence in patient care, teaching, and academic involvement
• Interest and previous experience in clinical research

The Department of Ophthalmology at our institution handles over 65,000 patient visits annually across our main campus in Maywood, four satellite clinics, and the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. The department comprises 15 full-time clinical faculty members, 8 full-time research scientists, and offers a broad range of subspecialty services.

Teaching is a fundamental aspect of this position. The Loyola Ophthalmology Residency Program trains four residents each year and includes a dedicated rotation in Oculoplastics. Educational resources available include:

• Advanced wet labs and a virtual reality surgical simulator
• Integrated teaching with the Program Director, Vice Chair of Education, and Co-Chief Residents
• A strong history of residents successfully matching into ASOPRS-accredited fellowships

We are a nationally recognized academic quaternary care system serving the western suburbs of Chicago. Our system includes:

• A 547-bed tertiary hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, Burn Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• A 247-bed community hospital offering bariatric, cancer, and rehabilitation services

This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes:

• Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
