We are looking for a Recycling Technician to join our team. The Recycling Technicians perform manual labor tasks at our Transfer Station and Scrap Metal Recycling facility. These are fulltime jobs in an outdoor environment year around that you can count on. Our technicians perform a variety of tasks to support the functions at our Recycling and Disposal facilities.

MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday- Saturday one day off during the week and Sunday !

Must be able to commute to Gilroy and Dos Palos.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obey all company policies and procedures.
• Always keep safety as your number one priority.
• Works well with others and is a team player.
• Sweeping, raking, shoveling and cleaning of facilities as needed.
• Ability to be on your feet all day and stand for long periods of time.
• Bending over or squatting down to pick materials for long periods of time.
• Ability to pickup up to 75 pounds repetitively if necessary
• Wear the proper PPE and safety equipment issued by the company at all times.
• Perform task such as pulling or picking up materials to sort them.
• Guiding and directing customers to the proper dumping areas.
• Performing load checks to ensure customers are not unloaded illegal or prohibited materials.
• Load materials into bins or hoppers.
• Use of hand tools like, hammers, prybars, utility knifes, screwdrivers and wrenches.
• Only operate company equipment once approved and certified by the company to operate it.
• Communicates with the customers and teammates in professional and timely manner.
• Hand sorting of materials by types for recycling or disposal.
• All other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior labor experience of any kind
• Experience with recycling in the construction, recycling or waste industry is highly desired
• High School Diploma or GED
• English/Spanish Bi-lingual (Preferred)
• Desire to want to succeed in a team environment
• Reliable always early or on time for shifts
