Mechanic/Heavy Duty Vehicle Technician

Job Summary The Mechanic/Heavy Duty Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair diesel engines and other powertrain components, air brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. Hours & Wages Available shift times: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM start; Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM start. Hourly pay: $20.00‑$33.00 per hour based on experience, with an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential for overnight positions. Paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities Use scan tool and laptop technology. Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader. Work independently or with a team. Perform routine truck inspections and fleet maintenance. Help maintain an effective and clean work environment. Have own tools or obtain own tools to complete all job functions. Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required. Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn. Education and Experience At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics preferred. Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver’s license or be willing to successfully complete the company‑paid CDL training program. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to pass a DOT physical exam. Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet. Work environment involves the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive. Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair.
