Job Summary
The Scheduler Analyst is responsible for coordinating the daily nomination, scheduling, confirmation, and balancing of natural gas supply and transportation across interstate and intrastate pipelines. This role works closely with trading, supply, pipeline companies, purchasers, and settlements to ensure accurate flows, minimize imbalances, and meet contractual and regulatory deadlines.
Job Description
- Manage daily and monthly nomination and confirmation of natural gas flows with purchasers and pipeline companies.
- Track, manage, and reconcile daily and monthly imbalances and allocations.
- Prepare monthly invoices and investigate and resolve payment or invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor pipeline maintenance, outages, and downtime schedules and coordinate impacts with field personnel.
- Support sales and scheduling activities during unplanned pipeline or plant downtime and weather-related disruptions.
- Maintain and update forecasts and communicate anticipated downtime to purchasers and pipeline companies.
- Update and maintain daily and monthly pricing and transaction confirmations.
- Ensure physical flows align with contractual and market positions while minimizing imbalance and cash-out exposure.
- Monitor pipeline nomination cycles, deadlines, tariffs, and electronic bulletin boards (EBBs).
- Collaborate with trading, supply, gas control, pipeline schedulers, customers, and accounting to support reliable operations and accurate settlements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation covering evenings, weekends, and holidays to support continuous operations.
- Identify opportunities for process automation, improved data controls, and operational efficiency.
Skills Required
- 4+ years of experience in natural gas scheduling, supply, pipeline operations, energy trading support, or a comparable analytical role.
- Working knowledge of interstate pipeline nomination cycles, NAESB timelines, tariffs, and electronic bulletin boards (EBBs).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliation of large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions and meet strict, non-negotiable deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across commercial, operational, and accounting functions.
- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with a gas management or nomination platform used by pipeline companies preferred.
- Familiarity with pipeline connections in the Gulf of America, including Discovery Gas Transmission, Nautilus, Kinetica Energy Express, Sea Robin East (Manta Ray), and Transco preferred.
- Exposure to physical and financial natural gas markets, including Gas Daily, Inside FERC, and NYMEX pricing preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation tariffs and index pricing preferred.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting automation, and process improvement preferred
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
