Job Title: CHEMIST II – Medical Marijuana Laboratory Section Position Number: 64007188. Working Title: CHEMIST II – 64007188. Pay Plan: Career Service. Salary: $38,264.07 - $61,398.84 annually. Posting Closing Date: 06/22/2026. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance the Medical Marijuana laboratory section. Assist in development, adaptation, validation, and implementation of analytical methods for potency and contamination using GC/MS, HPLC/MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP/MS, and related instruments. Process and analyze specimens in accordance with ISO 17025 guidelines. Document and report all analyses in the laboratory information system. Maintain instrumentation; perform daily maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Log, secure, and manage specimens and controlled substances for testing. Track and monitor temperatures, gases, supplies, and chemicals; report weekly to supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of terminology, principles, and techniques used in analysis and testing. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment. Skill in using laboratory equipment. Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Qualifications Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience. Benefits Annual and sick leave.
