Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: New York license required in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Charge experience is highly preferred - Travel experience is required - Epic charting system experience is required Description: Must have a New York license in hand. ICU Registered Nurse position involves working nights. Every other weekend coverage is required. Floating may be required. Patient ratio is 2-3. First-time travelers may be considered. Candidates must be located within a 75-mile radius. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience. Charge experience is preferred. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Key skills necessary for this role include: - Arterial line management - Blood product administration - Central line care and management - Continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade - Continuous IV sedation - Emergency medications - Infection prevention - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation precautions and PPE - IV insulin protocols - Management of dysrhythmias - Medical intensive care unit experience - Obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG - Phlebotomy - PICC line management - Procedural sedation administration and monitoring - Starting and maintaining IVs - Surgical intensive care unit experience - Thermoregulation for hypothermia and hyperthermia - Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips The unit supports interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Daily census averages 7 patients, with a total of 9 beds available. Return staff policy is 6 months. Modules may be required for completion prior to start. Total module time may reach up to 10 hours, and any time spent beyond 5 hours is non-billable.
