Part-Time Nurse Practitioner – Contract Position

GastroCare of El Paso | El Paso, Texas

GastroCare of El Paso is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our gastroenterology practice on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working collaboratively with a physician and clinical support team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal and liver-related conditions
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
• Prescribe medications within the provider’s authorized scope of practice
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and follow-up care
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Review test results and communicate recommendations to patients
• Coordinate care with specialists, primary care providers, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals
• Follow all applicable clinical, HIPAA, and practice policies

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses
• Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
• Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current BLS certification
• Prescriptive authority and DEA registration, as applicable to the position
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising physician and clinical team
• Gastroenterology, hepatology, internal medicine, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred but not required

Position Details

• Part-time contract position
• In-person outpatient clinic setting
• Schedule and number of clinic days to be mutually agreed upon
• Compensation based on experience and contract terms
• Potential opportunity for continued or expanded work based on practice needs and performance
