Shipper/Receiver

About the Role:

The Shipper/Receiver plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of received items, and preparing outgoing shipments to meet delivery schedules. The role requires close coordination with inventory control, logistics, and other departments to maintain seamless operations and minimize delays. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and maintain the integrity of the supply chain. Ultimately, the Shipper/Receiver contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring that products are handled properly and delivered on time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with barcode scanning and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external partners.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts using inventory management systems and documentation.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff and logistics teams to schedule shipments and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all shipping and receiving activities.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock organization to support overall warehouse operations.
