Purchasing and Inventory Specialist

We are looking for a hands‑on Inventory/Purchasing Coordinator to manage purchasing and inventory control for raw materials and sub‑assemblies. This is a hybrid manufacturing floor role and a desk job — you'll be walking the warehouse, counting stock, and staging materials in a working shop environment that is not climate-controlled. What You'll Do Own and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) for sub‑assemblies and raw materials, keeping it accurate as products and components change Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery on purchased goods Issue and track purchase orders; match POs, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy Perform hands‑on physical inventory counts in the warehouse, reconcile variances, and keep system records current Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against POs, and physically move and stage materials Package, crate, and prepare outgoing parts shipments, including labels and shipping documentation Monitor stock levels to keep production supplied while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory Support screw conveyor quoting and other purchasing‑related administrative tasks as needed What You Bring 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory experience in a manufacturing environment Direct experience working with or maintaining a Bill of Materials (BOM) Strong supplier negotiation and vendor management skills Comfort with hands‑on physical work: lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, standing, bending, and working in seasonal warehouse temperatures Sharp attention to detail and solid organizational habits Working knowledge of purchasing/inventory software and general computer systems Good to Know This is a hands‑on, on‑the‑floor role in a small‑company, manufacturing setting — expect the mix of desk work and warehouse work to shift toward warehouse work Growth path from apprentice into full ownership of the purchasing/inventory function #J-18808-Ljbffr
