Destination Independence LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Professional to join their team in San Antonio, TX. A Direct Care Professional (DCP) provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), helping them live as independently, safely, and meaningfully as possible. DCPs assist individuals in achieving their personal goals while promoting dignity, choice, inclusion, and self-determination.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and personal assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation
• Assist clients in community integration and independent living skills development
• Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition
• Implement individualized care plans and follow established support protocols
• Transport and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and community outings
• Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment for all clients

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in direct care, caregiving, or a related human services field preferred
• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to person-centered care practices
