Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk assists the company with basic accounting related tasks such as posting charges, reconciling accounts, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The position is responsible for correct data in that it affects the financial and legal position of the company. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn and be self motivated. This person should be very organized and have excellent communication skills. This position reports to the Controller.

The following are duties the accounting specialist may be responsible for:

• Reconcile vendor statements
• Reconcile Corporate Credit Cards
• Set up customers and/or vendors
• Enter payables information
• Print and distribute checks
• Audit and/or post payables and receivables

To qualify for the accounting specialist position, one should have experience in basic accounting and finance or the ability to work with numbers and accounting terms. A demonstrated ability or official training in basic business math and accounting concepts is highly recommended.

This position requires strict time adherence due to deadlines and the importance of the financial information. This may mean some overtime hours at different times of the month and/or year. This position due to its inherent nature demands a high level of discretion with some data being of a financial and personal nature.
