Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of PET and a reading physician, the PET technologist performs advanced PET imaging procedures on patients of all ages to aid in accurate diagnosis. They ensure compliance with safety protocols, operate imaging equipment, and provide quality diagnostic images.

Responsibilities:

• Operate PET imaging equipment in accordance with division standards and protocols.
• Prepare and review patient medical information, screening, and procedure requests to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents under radiologist guidance, adhering to regulatory standards.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and trouble-shoot as needed.
• Document radiopharmaceutical doses accurately and update PACS, MIM, and SMS systems.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment, including proper handling of radioactive materials and delivery cases.

Qualifications:

• Must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMT) or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine.
• Hold an active NYS Department of Health Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license with Injection and CT certification.
• Proven ability to start IV access, perform injections, and operate medical imaging workstations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety, quality control procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented setting with sound judgment.
• Continuously maintain and update relevant licenses and certifications.
