Research Engineer

SUMMARY The Research Engineer is an entry-level position in the field of research and development. They work under the guidance of senior researchers or engineers to support research projects, conduct experiments, and analyze data. They contribute to the development of new technologies, products, or processes. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS The ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Secret level. Coding knowledge - Python, Linux. Raspberry Pi-Focused Any experience working with patient evacuation testing and research Onsite 5 days a week at Fort Novosel, AL. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in planning and conducting research experiments or projects. Collects and analyzes data using various tools and techniques. Collaborates with senior researchers or engineers to develop new technologies, products, or processes. Performs literature reviews and stays updated with the latest advancements in the field. Assists in the design and construction of prototypes or experimental setups. Conducts tests and measurements to evaluate the performance of prototypes or experimental systems. Documents experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately. Assists in troubleshooting technical issues and proposing solutions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to share findings and insights. Stays updated with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and zero to two (0-2) years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education/experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
