Job Summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnered with a well-established manufacturer serving the life sciences, industrial, and process technology sectors to help them hire a Senior Automation Engineer.

This position plays a critical role in driving manufacturing automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across a highly automated production environment. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and global teams to improve productivity, quality, safety, and scalability while supporting both existing production and new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead automation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes.
• Support capital equipment projects from justification and procurement through installation and validation.
• Partner with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, reduce waste, and improve process performance.
• Support new product introductions while ensuring manufacturability, process capability, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, engineering changes, and process controls.

Qualifications and Must-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent military technical experience).
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, automation engineering, or related experience in a production environment.
• Experience supporting assembly and test processes, process optimization, and manufacturing equipment improvements.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
