ACT-Float | Advanced Care Technician CNA

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to support nursing staff by providing essential patient care and comfort. This role involves assisting patients across various age groups, including infants, emergency pediatric, and adult populations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to unit safety and infection control standards.
Deliver comfort measures and assist with patients' daily needs, including meal assistance.
Record and report vital signs and observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake/output to supervisors.
Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Prepare formula in the NICU department when applicable.

Qualifications

ACT: Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.
ACT-Float: Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.
NICU Department: Required minimum 2 years CNA experience; pediatric experience highly preferred.
Basic computer proficiency is required.
Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English is essential.
Familiarity with electronic charting is preferred.

Education

Must hold one or more of the following upon hire:
- Current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification
- Licensed Vocational Nurse license
- Military Corpsman
- Nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing, including initial assessment and vital signs

Certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider required upon hire.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within 90 days for specific departments.
Maintain a minimum of 10 continuing education hours annually related to work.

All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
