Your Impact as a Kennel Assistant

• The Kennel Assistant is responsible for providing a clean, efficient and healthy environment for the animals being boarded at the hospital. A day in the life of an Kennel Assistant:
• Maintain the cleanliness of the resort, including kennel area, runs, and outside grounds.
• Monitor and record important information about the animals' conditions, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).
• Feed and medicate all lodging guests.
• Maintain laundry and dishes throughout the day and keep the laundry and kitchen areas neat.
• Notify the Management of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
• Provide general care and supervision for 1 on 1 time and group play activities.
• Assist in the screening and introduction of new dogs into playgroups.
• Perform other duties as assigned that assist the Management, Receptionist, Groomers, Daycare Attendants, and Kennel Assistants in the smooth flow and operation of the resort, care of clients and service to the clients.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekend/holiday shifts.
• Must have computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations.
• Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Previous experience as a kennel assistant is preferred.
• Must work overnight and be able to work alone
• Reliable transportation required
