About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 5 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Cardiology experience Description: RN with mandatory telemetry experience required. Cardiology experience is essential. Responsible for performing stress testing in the Heart and Vascular Institute. Stress testing includes plain treadmill, nuclear stress, and stress echocardiogram. Cardiologists are onsite to read all studies and are present for dobutamin stress testing. Nuclear Med Tech is onsite for all nuclear stress testing. RN is responsible for learning and implementing stress testing protocols. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. No evening shifts are required. Saturday call shift only involves arriving from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM to perform inpatient studies with the echo tech. RNs are also responsible for starting IVs and pushing Definity. Unit description includes a combined stress and echo lab with RNs and cardiac sonographers. The unit performs both inpatient and outpatient stress testing. Stress testing is not performed on weekends. Lab is equipped with GE Ventri Nuclear Cameras and uses Epic software for reporting.
