Educational Resource Advisor (TRIO) – Moreno Valley College Location: Moreno Valley College Position Type: Support Staff (Classified / Confidential) Full‑Time 12‑month tenure Salary: $6,897 – $8,393 per month (Grade M) Application Deadline: 06‑05‑2026 8:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time Job Summary Provides ongoing support and services to students through the matriculation process, career and transfer process, student success programs, and other advising services that lead to academic success. Collaborates with local high schools, community organizations, and other educational institutions to facilitate student participation. Responsibilities Provide specialized support to the District's student success programs. Assist students in navigating the SEP process. Host and conduct workshops designed to facilitate student success. Coordinate outreach activities in assigned programs. Develop website content for assigned programs. Follow up with students to ensure they meet class guidelines and maintain college deadlines. Prepare educational information materials such as flyers and newsletters. Maintain record‑keeping and filing systems. Provide efficient customer service to the public, vendors, contractors, and personnel. Assist counselors with updating counseling materials and website information. Coordinate and engage in student follow‑up activities via phone, email, and social media. Plan and oversee the work of student workers as assigned. Set up and maintain electronic databases, files, and student records. Address student emails regarding articulation, course selection, transfer agreements, and equity program requirements. Participate in district‑provided in‑service training programs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience: An associate’s degree and at least two years of experience in higher education serving students in the matriculation process, student success programs, or other counseling services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of: Program offerings related to attracting and retaining students. First‑time student matriculation process and course offerings. Purpose and intent of student educational plans. A diverse range of programs available to students and the community. Methods and techniques of evaluating student assessment tests. Methods and techniques of preparing materials and delivering workshops on student success topics. Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, and policies relevant to the assigned area. Transfer pathways available to students. Website content development principles. Research practices. Mathematical skills. General business office administrative procedures. Record‑keeping principles and practices. Ability to: Provide specialized support to the District’s student success programs. Interpret and apply mandated and District policies, rules, and regulations. Assist students in the SEP process. Host and conduct workshops for student success. Coordinate outreach activities. Develop website content. Follow up to ensure students meet deadlines. Prepare educational materials such as flyers and newsletters. Maintain filing and record‑keeping systems. Maintain confidentiality of files and records. Stay current in the field through training and conferences. Organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments. Exercise independent judgment within policy and procedural guidelines. Use computer systems, software applications, and business equipment effectively. Communicate effectively in the course of work. Build effective working relationships with colleagues. Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds. Provide high‑level customer service to the public and personnel. Licenses and Certifications None. Physical Demands Mobility to work in an office setting; use of standard office equipment including a computer. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
