Civil Engineer Matrix Technologies, Inc. is a leading provider of engineering, automation, and systems integration services since 1980. Overview Join our team as a Civil Engineer. The position is salaried with overtime eligibility, working independently and collaboratively to prepare designs and drawings for site development and industrial infrastructure projects. The role supports topographic surveying, 3D laser scanning, and ground penetrating radar services. A professional engineer license is required or must be obtained within 12 months of employment. Responsibilities include leading junior engineers. Key Responsibilities Lead designs for site grading, site layout, stormwater management, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water/firewater piping, pavement, parking lots, private roads/drives, erosion and sediment control, railroad spurs, and general site development for industrial and manufacturing facilities. Lead the development of engineering contract documents, including drawings, details, specifications, and installation scopes of work using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office. Lead gathering field data including hand measurements, surveying, 3D scanning, and ground penetrating radar. Lead estimating material take‑offs and preparing budgetary construction cost estimates. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four‑year ABET‑accredited college or university. Four to ten years of related civil engineering experience. Experience in engineering consulting and/or work at manufacturing facilities preferred. PE license required or ability to obtain within 12 months of start date. Ability to travel up to 20 % locally; occasional overnight travel may be required. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. Knowledge of topographic surveying and/or 3D laser scanning preferred. Ability to self‑manage assignments for multiple projects concurrently. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills. Physical Requirements Occasional standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching; hand use, reaching, talking, hearing. Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Field work may involve hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs. Salary Base range: $81,000 to $115,000 annually, plus profit sharing, ESOP participation, 401(k) matching, and overtime pay. Salaries are based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
