Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Med Surg) – Colorado

Schedule: Day Shift, 0615 to 1845 | 3 days per week | 12-hour shifts | 36 guaranteed hours per week

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Colorado or Compact RN license
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, and evaluation of care
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and communicate findings to providers using SBAR format
• Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments safely and accurately
• Perform age-specific nursing care and demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in Cerner using Care Compass tools
• Provide patient and family education related to disease process, treatment plans, medications, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care and prevent readmission
• Follow infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold patient rights, dignity, and privacy at all times

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform heavy work in a hospital setting, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with patient movement and positioning. The role includes potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, radiation, chemicals, and physical strain related to patient care.
