Sr. Wealth Strategist/ Client Development Sales Executive

Wealth Strategist Role The Wealth Strategist position is a key business development sales role that supports Northern Trust’s growth. As a senior member of the team, you will oversee new client development, execute solutions‑sales strategy, and work with a local specialist team to identify prospective clients, share Northern Trust capabilities, and convert prospects into clients. You will also manage the transition of ongoing client contact to the appropriate teams and lead civic and philanthropic engagements as a local brand ambassador. What You’ll Do Implement a business‑development strategy and approach for your targeted new client base, bringing entrepreneurial spirit, motivation to close new business, and collaborative communication skills. Work with ultra‑high net worth individuals, families, and businesses to cultivate new investment‑management relationships and promote our goals‑driven wealth‑management approach. Take a long‑term consultative approach on estate‑planning and tax‑planning services, engaging clients, attorneys, and other representatives, and act as their liaison as needs evolve. Cultivate internal and external personal and professional networks to identify new client relationships and showcase Northern Trust’s full capabilities to community members, clients, and professional advisors. Seek opportunities and connections in communities, networks, and philanthropic organizations. Collaborate with a full team of experts to support and demonstrate how Northern Trust can help clients achieve their goals. What Will Make You Successful 10+ years of sales and relationship‑management experience, preferably with wealth‑management clients. A strong network of Centers of Influence for ultra‑high net worth individuals and families, including attorneys, estate planners, and CPAs. Knowledge of fiduciary capabilities and services (e.g., trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning) and fee structures. Ability to profile a client’s financial landscape and recommend solutions across Northern Trust’s full spectrum of offerings. Series 7 and 63 licenses required; CFP, CFTA, CFA, or CIMA strongly preferred. Strong analytical and sales skills to link client asset situations to Northern Trust’s capabilities. Excellent communication skills to understand and respond to client needs. A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across the organization; no lone wolves. Salary Range $137,400 – 240,400 USD Salary range is a good‑faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well‑being benefits. A discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component is also available.
