Extended Care Worker

Extended Care WorkerSchaumburg Christian School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Extended Care Worker to join our team. As an Extended Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our elementary students outside of regular school hours. This part-time position involves supervising children during the extended care hours from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, as well as on some non-school days when extended care services are offered.Responsibilities:Ensure the safety and well-being of students during extended care hours.Engage students in age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts to promote social interaction and creativity.Assist with homework and academic activities as needed.Implement established routines for snacks, playtime, and quiet time.Communicate effectively with parents and school staff regarding student behavior and updates.Enforce school policies and procedures to maintain a positive and respectful environment.Collaborate with other extended care team members to create a cohesive and enjoyable experience for all students.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education or related field preferred.Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in a childcare or educational setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and staff.Ability to handle various situations with patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.First Aid and CPR certification preferred (not necessary)Flexibility to work on some non-school days when extended care services are offered.
