Maintenance Mechanic in Food Production

Our client, a leader in the food production industry, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the production operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Bellingham, WA

Pay Range: $28-$38.66/hr

Shift: MONDAY-FRIDAY / 5:30pm-6:00am

What's the Job?

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production equipment.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to identify causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts.
• Inspect parts for imperfections and measure to ensure compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Test and adjust equipment to meet performance standards, ensuring optimal operation.

What's Needed?

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Production Maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyors, and bagging machines is preferred.
• Basic electrical and automation controls knowledge.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve diverse breakdowns effectively.
