This opportunity entails being responsible for the profitable operation of multiple projects or mega projects with revenue exceeding $3,000,000/year. You will coordinate all project efforts to ensure efficient and cost‑effective execution, serve as primary liaison contact with clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within the budget, and with maximum client satisfaction, and handle the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to elevate the process, product, and dialogue of aviation architecture practice within HNTB; reinforce the current direction and envision and implement new design processes and standards.
• Support project design and help guide or pioneer the design ideas that reflect innovation and unique aesthetics while ensuring operations, functions, and the client vision.
• Contribute to ongoing research and development of new processes and technologies in architecture, including novel implementations, AI, and practice‑based improvements, as well as technical and sustainable improvements.
• Contribute on a national level with professional and design associations within HNTB’s strategy.
• Help advise and assemble integrated teams and elevate design through team building, collaboration, and empowerment.
• Attract and recruit staff from all levels of experience and mentor developing professionals to reach their highest and best use.
• Provide expertise and selling skills through interviewing, leading the creation of collateral, imagery, and technical writing.
• Provide mentorship to the next generation of professionals to become excellent sellers, comfortable speakers, and innovative designers.
• Support the Aviation Growth Team in recognizing projects, clients, and programs to target and position for pursuit. Develop winning themes and strategies as part of a delivery team and pre‑position for projects to ensure that before the RFP comes out we are in the top positions to win.
• Participate in large‑scale pursuits, mega projects, or highly complex projects to ensure that we are in position to win.
• Have full responsibility for managing all aspects of mega projects.
• Prepare strategic plans for project success.
• Coordinate all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost‑effective execution of assigned projects.
• Serve as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.
• Oversee and monitor work to less experienced project managers.
• Actively manage client’s budget, schedule, and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments.
• Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts on the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.
• Coordinate work efforts and review work performed.
• Ensure quality management.
• Act as a champion for the team.
• Be responsible for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, performance review, work allocation, training, and mentoring of staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field and 15 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 20 years of experience.
• Master’s degree.
• Registered Architect (RA).

Pay Range

New York: $180,596.86 – $360,607.36. Massachusetts: $216,716.23 – $346,183.07. Nationwide: $180,596.86 – $360,607.36. The pay ranges are estimates and actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and work location.
