Job Responsibilities Specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and illnesses in professional sports. Provide quality evidence‑based athletic health services and develop comprehensive health care programs. Build and maintain strategic relationships with physicians, hospital administration, athletic trainers, coaches, sports performance specialists, athletes, and their parents. Fulfill the staff and medical requirements of contracts or partnership agreements for assigned areas/events and identify and resolve issues affecting effective delivery of health care. Be available outside normal working hours and travel moderately to national and potentially international events. Adjust training and care plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback. Coordinate with high‑performance medical staff to optimize athlete performance. Collaborate with counselors to address athletes’ mental health needs. Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure cohesive care. Integrate feedback from various specialists to enhance athlete well‑being. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of best practices in sports medicine and performance. Develop and implement training programs with coaches and strength coaches. Monitor athlete health and performance with physicians and medical staff. Create nutrition plans with nutritionists to support athlete health and performance. Provide mental health support and counseling services to athletes. Facilitate communication and collaboration among all team members. Ensure all aspects of athlete care are integrated and aligned with performance goals. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English. [Required] Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite technology. [Required] Excellent communication skills within a Sports Medicine team and professional organization. [Required] Athletic Trainer/Sports Certified Specialist degree/certification. [Required] Education Master’s. [Required] Doctorate. [Preferred] Field of Study Physical Therapy Work Experience 3+ years of experience working with high‑level athletes. [Required] 5+ years of experience. [Preferred] Master‑level professional competency of Rehabilitation, prevention, evaluation, principles, and applications as defined in competencies departmental policy. Additional Information Education requirements for this position are determined by the licensing or certification standards set forth by the relevant certifying body. Applicants must possess the level of education mandated for eligibility to obtain and maintain the required license or certification. Licenses and Certifications Physical Therapist (PT).
