RF Test Engineering Manager Overview

We are seeking an experienced RF Test Engineering Manager to lead the development, qualification, and production test strategy for advanced RF and semiconductor products. This role will oversee RF test engineering activities across new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing ramp, and high-volume production environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong semiconductor industry experience, expertise in RF testing and automation, and proven leadership capabilities to drive product quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.

RF Test Engineering Manager Responsibilities

• Lead and manage RF test engineering activities for product development, qualification, manufacturing ramp, and production.
• Develop and maintain test platforms for RF components and modules, including filters, couplers, inductors, capacitors, interposers, and related technologies.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and establish testing requirements.
• Oversee wafer acceptance testing, final test operations, and daily test priorities to ensure throughput, quality, and schedule objectives are met.
• Analyze test data, identify trends, and present findings and recommendations to engineering and leadership teams.
• Develop and implement automated test and data analysis solutions using Python or similar scripting tools.
• Utilize RF test equipment, including vector network analyzers, source meters, and digital multimeters, to characterize and validate product performance.
• Design and support test fixtures, probe interfaces, sockets, PCBs, and related hardware required for product evaluation and manufacturing testing.
• Support manufacturing processes, yield improvement initiatives, reliability testing, and continuous process optimization efforts.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians while establishing best practices for RF, electrical, and reliability testing.
• Support equipment selection, procurement, and implementation to enhance test capabilities and manufacturing efficiency.

RF Test Engineering Manager Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of RF test engineering experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• Experience within semiconductor manufacturing and high-volume production environments.
• Strong knowledge of RF measurements, S-parameters, calibration techniques, and de-embedding methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with wafer-level testing, automated test systems, and RF characterization equipment.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (GR&R), and process capability metrics (Cp/Cpk).
• Familiarity with RF circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools such as ADS or similar platforms.
• Experience with reliability testing methodologies and industry standards such as JEDEC and MIL-STD is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must be eligible to access export-controlled information in accordance with applicable regulations.
