Analyzes and determines the impact of new or revised corrective action plans and policies on existing systems, programs, and operations for effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives relating to access controls. Performs risk assessments and reviews of IT systems, software, and access controls using a risk‑based approach. Develops test plans and conducts tests to validate compliance with access controls and internal use software policies and procedures, analyzing the effectiveness of controls. Documents findings on system access control deficiencies, recommends corrective actions, and generates internal control observations to initiate corrective actions. Develops local policies and procedures that reflect the legislative intent of application information‑assurance laws and regulations. Collects, maintains, and analyzes all requests for access to various systems, serving as the subject‑matter expert on user account administration tasks, including creating, changing, deleting user accounts, and assigning privileges. Uses Document Automation and Content Services to store and maintain user requests for access to DOW and DLA systems. Establishes and maintains communications with appropriate staff within the Department of War and the Defense Logistics Agency to ensure plan execution and sustainment. Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Set Schedule. Security Requirements: Non‑Critical Sensitive, Secret Access. Appointment subject to a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorable background checks will be grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt. Positions may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Information Operations (J6) locations. Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), the applicant must have: One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties of the position (equivalent to GS‑11 level). Experience documenting system access control deficiencies, recommending corrective actions, and generating internal control observations. Experience collecting, maintaining, and analyzing all requests for access to systems for user account administration tasks. Experience developing local policies and procedures reflecting the legislative intent of application information‑assurance laws and regulations. Experience performing risk assessments and reviews of IT systems, software, and access controls with a risk‑based approach. Experience developing test plans, conducting tests to validate compliance with access controls and internal use software policies and procedures, and analyzing the effectiveness of controls in place.
