Role Description The True/False Film Fest is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Columbia, Missouri-based human being to support the Artistic Director with film and event programming for the upcoming festival (March 4-7, 2027). The Program Coordinator works September through March handling the nuts and bolts of coordinating film submissions and special programs leading up to the festival. This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity for the right candidate to learn how a many-pronged, mission-driven, international cultural event works from the inside. Although the Program Coordinator is invited to participate in programming discussions, no film experience is necessary for this role. A passion for nonfiction is a bonus, but business and hospitality skills might prove more vital for the day-to-day. Familiarity with True/False Film Fest, Ragtag Cinema and/or the thriving arts community in Columbia is also appreciated. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Aug. 20, 2026, but a hiring decision may be made before that date. Duties Include: Managing film festival submissions, tracking film submissions and payments, checking-in films to the festival database, and keeping the submissions database organized (sending confirmation emails, checking duplicates, etc.), and entering additional solicited films as needed. Organizing the True/False Screening Committee members, sending weekly assignments and deadline reminders, and coordinating each group’s monthly call with the Programming team. Supporting Artistic Director in scheduling, administrative tasks, and occasional production support related to the teams working under curation: Art, Music, and Hospitality The ideal candidate will have the following skills and traits: Extremely detail oriented, with a strong aptitude for web, database, and spreadsheet use (e.g. Google Drive, Airtable, Slack) Strong customer service skills and helpful, positive disposition Comfort & agility in troubleshooting issues via phone, email, and in person Confidence and discretion in handling fee payments and other personal information Strong interpersonal skills including efficient writing and timely communication Ability to work with a variety of team members Desire to be part of a cultural organization that has a positive impact on the wider world of documentary filmmaking and local communities Experience in arts administration or working for film or cultural institutions a plus Compensation & Culture: $10,000 stipend and a complimentary pass to the festival. The schedule is flexible and hybrid. The ideal candidate would reside in Columbia, Missouri, and is available to work between September and March.
