About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 3+ Years of Acute Care Experience Required License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Experience with PCA's and Managing Epidural Medications Preferred Description: Position in an Acute Care Float Pool. Shifts are three 12-hour shifts. Days: 07:00 - 19:30. Nights: 19:00 - 07:30. The position includes floating to all acute care units, rehabilitation, and boarding areas. Travelers will float to various units and may need to change units multiple times within a single shift. No on-call responsibilities. No floating to sister facilities. Weekends required on an as-needed basis. Epidural medication experience highly preferred. High acuity acute care experience is essential. Must have experience titrating insulin and heparin drips. Teaching facility experience is highly recommended. Management of pain with epidurals and ketamine is preferred. Staff may monitor for chemotherapy side effects. Healthcare providers may be called off during low census periods. Minimum time off requests should be limited to ensure scheduling flexibility. Orientation to multiple units will occur over three shifts. The facility includes multiple acute care beds with various specialties. Candidates must have completed skills checklist and references recently. Strong experience with telemetry nursing is preferred. Familiarity with charting systems required. Management of dysrhythmias is essential. Experience in an acute care environment with high patient turnover is necessary. Focus on providing quality care in a fast-paced, changing environment.
