About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7am-7:30pm) Experience: L&D Experience required License: Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery TS-C certification required Certifications: CPR or BLS certification preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience required Description: Focused on growth and technological expertise since 1974. A full-service community and regional teaching hospital serving rural areas. This facility offers primary and specialty care services. The community presents a balance of small-town culture and diversity. The Surgical Tech facilitates physician performance during invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care during operative procedures. Constantly monitors the maintenance of the sterile field. Essential functions include verifying surgery to be performed with consent forms. Bringing patients to assigned operating rooms. Passing instruments to surgeons during procedures. Anticipating surgeons’ needs for additional supplies. Performing appropriate counts with circulators prior to operations and before incision closure. Preparing sterile dressings and securing them after incision closure. Checking supplies and equipment needed for procedures. Obtaining appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedures. Setting up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed. Helping drape sterile fields. Cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization. Assisting team members with room turnover and prepping for the next patient. Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
