Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful, safe, and profitable execution of assigned electrical construction projects ranging from $0 to $5,000,000. The Project Manager owns every phase of a project, from conception through final payment and serves as a professional leader who upholds Renfrow Industrial’s Core Values in all interactions. This role drives schedule, budget, quality, and safety performance while building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the business. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to create schematics, select components, and support the build and commissioning of control panels.

Project Ownership & Profitability:

Own all aspects of assigned projects from conception through completion.

Deliver successful and profitable completion of projects ranging from $0 to $5,000,000.

Review estimated man-hours and costs with project staff to establish the approach needed to meet or exceed the project budget.

Ensure cost and quantity reporting is accurate and submitted to the Director in a timely manner.

Safety & Quality:

Champion and ensure full compliance with company safety and quality programs.

Ensure safety and accident-prevention planning and monitor safe work practices and good housekeeping on every project.

Ensure contract plans and specifications are followed, ensuring quality work and good craftsmanship throughout.

Scheduling & Budget:

Translate the estimate into a working schedule and provide the information needed to keep schedules current for the duration of the project.

Establish and maintain the project schedule within budget.

Ensure the project team understands the contracted scope of work, and that any deviation generates cost recovery through change orders.

Procurement & Compliance:

Oversee project procurement and management of materials, equipment, tools, and subcontractors.

Operate within and comply with Renfrow policies.

Ensure project documentation and notifications required by the contract documents are adhered to. This responsibility should not be delegated

Billing, Customer Relations & Growth:

Generate and maintain timely billings to support the most advantageous cash flow.

Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, pursue new project opportunities, and seek ways to increase company profit through additional sales.

Project Closeout & Team Development:

Manage project closeout, including collection, claims settlement, and a final in-house project analysis with feedback to superintendents and the estimating department.

Conduct performance evaluations of superintendents and craftsmen, providing feedback that helps team members improve in all areas of performance.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in both an office setting and at active construction sites. The Project Manager must be able to visit jobsites, navigate uneven terrain, and observe field conditions.

Qualifications:

Industrial Electrical Experience

Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Procore and Bluebeam)

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative environment.
