Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic role making a real difference in the lives of students with exceptionalities as a self-contained ESE teacher. This contract opportunity begins August 10, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2027, offering a steady schedule of 35 hours per week (seven hours per day) at a single school site in the Jacksonville area. The focus is on elementary-aged students, and while placement is primarily within elementary settings, efforts will be made to accommodate other grade preferences whenever possible.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Florida ESE certification required
• K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required
• Previous experience in a self-contained classroom setting is essential
• Comfortable leading a classroom supporting students with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained ESE classroom, designing and implementing engaging, individualized learning plans
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that nurtures growth for students at varied academic levels
• Collaborate with fellow educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement and well-being
• Maintain thorough documentation and stay current with all special education compliance requirements

Requirements:

• Completion of fingerprinting prior to assignment (process will be discussed further; previously cleared prints via AHCA may be valid)
• Internal eligibility interview required
• Participation in a brief virtual prescreen interview prior to placement

This is an on-site position (not open to virtual instruction), giving you the chance to have a daily, in-person impact on your students’ educational journeys.
