Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This position requires a flexible Registered Nurse (RN) to float between various medical and surgical units. The successful candidate will work 12-hour day shifts, providing care and support in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Shift Details

The selected candidate will work:

• 12-hour shifts from 0645 to 1915
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours

Licensure Requirements

All candidates must possess an active Hawaii Nursing License by the start of the assignment. Individuals not currently licensed in Hawaii must initiate the application process upon acceptance of the offer. Medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in place of documented proof of immunity.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

• Providing patient care across multiple units
• Utilizing Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication management, wound vacs, and managing chest tubes

Experience and Skills

A minimum of 2-10 years of nursing experience is required for this position. The following certifications are required and preferred:

• Required: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Unit Information

The following units may be included in the floating responsibilities:

• Medical Unit (77 beds; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 days/evenings, 1:8 nights)
• Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute; 18 beds; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6)
• Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, on rare occasions)

Orientation and Training

A comprehensive orientation program will be provided for each unit, ensuring that the successful candidate is well-prepared for their role.

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, including clean scrubs.

Additional Information

Candidates must arrive the Thursday before their start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday. Please confirm availability to meet this requirement before accepting the offered start date.
