ASCP Surgery Center Technician

The Surgery Center Technician plays a vital role in supporting Operating Room staff by providing both direct and indirect patient care. This position focuses on ensuring safe, high-quality, and age-appropriate care while facilitating the smooth flow of the daily surgical schedule. Collaboration and teamwork are key components of this role, which reports directly to the Operating Room Manager.

Education and Formal Training: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate degree or higher preferred. Candidates with healthcare-related certifications such as Surgical Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, or Nursing Assistant are highly desirable.

Work Experience: Applicants should have a minimum of three years of clinical healthcare experience. Proficiency with computer systems, including handheld electronic devices, is necessary. Emotional maturity and the ability to foster cooperative and effective relationships with physicians, coworkers, and patients are essential.

Licenses and Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
