Job Summary

Under general supervision performs high quality echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds following ICAEL and ICAVL accredited guidelines. Individuals in this position will work closely with Cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and Radiologists. Must be able to exercise initiative and independent judgment. Technologist must be knowledgeable of techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images. Individuals in this position must be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative. Work with all segments of patient populations, including adults, and geriatric patients. There is the potential for infections from contact with infected patients. Also, there is possibly some contact with processing chemicals and other hazardous materials. Work hours can, at times, be irregular with the need to accept overtime and being on call. The work is physically demanding with the need for a lot of standing, bending, and lifting. Reports To: Manager and Director

Job Requirements

Minimum education: Graduate of accredited school of ultrasound/sonography. Registered in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (RDCS) and Vascular Technology (RVT).

Completes studies in Merge Cardio in a timely manner for physician review Performs inpatient and outpatient venous and arterial ultrasounds Works closely with cardiologist in providing quality interpretation of patient testing
