Job Summary

• Perform general labor and maintenance support for the Department of Public Works
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned indoor and outdoor areas
• Complete routine tasks under close supervision with minimal guidance due to the repetitive nature of the work
• Support safe and efficient public works operations

Essential Functions

• Pick up paper, litter, and debris using a picker tool
• Maintain cleanliness of designated indoor and outdoor work areas
• Dispose of collected waste in appropriate bins or disposal units
• Follow all safety and hygiene procedures while handling waste
• Report hazardous or unusual waste materials to supervisors
• Properly use and safely store tools and equipment
• Perform other assigned duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Ability to understand and follow simple work processes
• Basic knowledge of operating power tools and small maintenance equipment/machinery
• Ability to perform routine manual labor tasks
