Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Other duties as assigned. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Interpersonal Skills [Required] Completion of validation skills [Required] Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required] Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required] Laser skills/training [Required] Able to precept and act as resource person and preceptor in multiple surgical specialties [Preferred] Minimum of one year scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service [Required] Demonstrated specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director [Required] Proficient in the English language [Required] Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required] Education: Associate [Preferred] High School Grad or Equivalent [Required] Technical/Vocational School [Required] Work Experience: 2+ years of experience as certified surgical tech Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties [Preferred] Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required] Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements) Physical Requirements - Pay Range: $23.71 - $44.09 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law) Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
