N/A Position Title Position Title Dental Hygiene Program- Adjunct Faculty (TEMPORARY) Special Instructions to Applicants N/A Description of Position Diablo Valley College ( DVC ) in Pleasant Hill welcomes faculty with a vision of excellence in instruction and an ability to employ various formats and styles in support of successful student learning. DVC seeks faculty who can adapt to a variety of teaching situations and who have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. The primary teaching assignment may include theory and clinical instruction of dental hygiene students with the goal of helping students fulfill mastery of entry-level competencies. Teaching assignments may include, but not limited to Clinical Dental Hygiene, Head and Neck Anatomy and Local Anesthesia. All dental hygiene program faculty must maintain current knowledge of the specific subjects they are teaching, and documented background in current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments. Adjunct instructor classroom faculty pay rate is $77.87-$128.97 per hour (up to $151.16). Current BLS certification Desirable Qualifications The program is seeking applicants who exhibit the highest level of professional excellence and dedication, and who meet the Commission on Dental Accreditation ( CODA ) and Dental Hygiene Board of California ( DHBC ) requirements for clinical faculty as evidenced by: Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years which can be met by (2) years’ experience providing direct patient care or one (1) academic year of dental or dental hygiene clinical teaching experience. Documented background in current educational methodology concepts and faculty calibration for clinical evaluation Graduate of a CODA accredited dental or dental hygiene program.
