Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a Med/Surg unit with a focus on various medical and surgical conditions. The role includes managing a patient load with a 1:9 nurse-to-patient ratio, supported by PCA techs on the unit. The nurse will work collaboratively within a team environment to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, administering medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Utilize EPIC for patient documentation and charting.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families on health management.
• Participate in unit-based activities and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg setting.
• Current New York State RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• COVID vaccination required.
• Previous experience with EPIC electronic health records.
