Aircraft MechanicThis role performs comprehensive aircraft maintenance and repair within a certified 14 CFR Part 145 repair station environment, supporting commercial aircraft across their full service life. The aircraft mechanic researches technical data and carries out disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing, and calibration of aircraft components using specialized tools and ground support equipment, in strict accordance with maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.ResponsibilitiesResearch technical data and follow applicable maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and FAA regulations to determine the appropriate methods for repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged aircraft components.Perform disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing, and calibration of aircraft components using company special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, as well as functional components including rigging, flight control surfaces, plumbing systems, and hydraulic units.Read and interpret manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications to assess feasibility of repairs and to execute approved maintenance procedures.Remove units from aircraft, engines, or other major components or subassemblies, and complete all required identification, inspection, routing tags, forms, and entries in the Component Removal Log.Disassemble and inspect aircraft and engine parts for wear, damage, corrosion, or other defects, and document findings as required.Repair or replace defective engine parts, reassemble engines, and reinstall engines in aircraft in accordance with approved procedures.Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories to ensure proper operation and compliance with technical standards.Perform miscellaneous service duties on aircraft, including cleaning, servicing, greasing, moving aircraft and components, and checking brakes.Operate aircraft ground servicing equipment such as tugs, tractors, hi-lifts, trucks, servicing carts, test equipment, hand tools, rivet guns, and drills in a safe and efficient manner.Support heavy maintenance, line maintenance, and aircraft storage or reclamation activities on commercial aircraft as needed.Essential SkillsAirframe qualification required, with 35+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.Demonstrated experience in heavy maintenance on commercial aircraft, including narrow and wide body types.Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance and repair in a 14 CFR Part 145 repair station or similar regulated environment.Proficiency in line maintenance and aircraft maintenance repair activities.Ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical specifications.Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage, rigging, flight control surfaces, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.Experience working on Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft airframes.Ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble aircraft and engine components to required standards.Capability to adjust, repair, or replace aircraft electrical wiring systems and accessories.Additional Skills & QualificationsAirframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.Experience in an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environment is highly beneficial.Possession of a basic set of personal tools suitable for aircraft maintenance work.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support health, financial well-being, and work-life balance. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available on an as-needed basis. Work involves exposure to high-intensity noise levels, extreme temperature changes, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working at heights, and working around moving machinery, including aircraft fuel tank entry. The role requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, as well as bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level. Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds unassisted is necessary. Eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required to safely perform tasks. Aircraft ground servicing equipment such as tugs, tractors, hi-lifts, trucks, servicing carts, test equipment, hand tools, rivet guns, and drills are regularly used. Protective equipment including goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, and safety harnesses is required in accordance with safety policies.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.12 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
