Phlebotomist - Part Time

Job Details Job Location: Carrollton, KY 41008 Department: Laboratory Physical Location: 309 11th St., Carrollton, KY 41045 Position: Part‑Time, Hourly (Friday and Saturday – 5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) Overview What if you had the opportunity to make a difference? Responsibilities Process specimens/test orders on inpatients and outpatients and referred specimens Provide test results and/or other information Perform selected laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and/or specimen testing for patients aged neonatal/infant, pediatric, adolescent up to 19 years, adult, geriatric (65 years or greater) Assume responsibility for following compliance guidelines with federal, state and local regulations within the department Consistently demonstrate competency in computer use in all functions Adhere to all infection control and safety policies and procedures, both hospital wide and department/section specific Demonstrate initiative in receiving and stocking supplies Verify specimen identification at each stage of processing Identify discrepancies in specimen identification and follow up according to departmental policy and procedure Accurately report all results according to policy and procedure Perform and document quality control Perform and document corrective action when tests, equipment, or instrument quality control is unacceptable Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on instruments as required by the policy and procedure Perform phlebotomy functions according to policy and procedure Ensure patient records are submitted or faxed to appropriate agency in a timely manner Complete all required technical competencies in designated time frame according to policy and procedure Qualifications High School graduate or its equivalent Strong mathematical skills Ability to recognize and respond to emergency situations Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients, physicians, and visitors Phlebotomy experience preferred Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts Short‑term and Long‑term Disability 401(k) Company‑funded retirement contributions Paid Time Off Company Carroll County Memorial Hospital strives to uphold our values of Respect, Compassion, Excellence, Stewardship and Justice each day to ensure we provide the best possible services to the communities we serve.
