Job Summary Under immediate supervision of the Health Center Manager, the Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse performs routine clinic duties associated with a reproductive health program within the scope of their training/licensure. They are responsible for providing high‑quality customer service and patient care while supporting the operations of the health center, including patient history review, lab processing, contraceptive supply provision, education, inventory support, and clinician assistance. Minimum Qualifications Medical Assistant (MA) Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS. Current BLS Certificate for healthcare providers. High School diploma or equivalent. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Active LPN license in Nebraska. Current BLS Certificate for healthcare providers. Your Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Interview and screen patients, conduct patient history review, document in electronic medical record, prepare patients for examinations/procedures, assess and triage complaints, monitor vital signs. Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture, communicate results, ensure appropriate follow‑up, and process receipt of incoming lab results. Provide factual education, including FDA‑approved birth control methods and unbiased instructions. Inform patients about all options related to unintended pregnancy with supportive materials as needed. Provide unbiased information to clients seeking abortion and describe the difference between medication and surgical abortion. Refer patients per protocol, perform follow‑up functions, and ensure complete documentation. Follow all federal, state, and local laws regarding mandated reporting, abortion services, healthcare services, and HIPAA. Provide contraceptive supplies and medications, perform venipuncture, manage medical emergencies per PPNCS protocols, and maintain inventory control. Communicate PPNCS protocols, policies, and procedures to clinicians and staff; keep clinic manuals up to date. Maintain knowledge of Planned Parenthood policies and apply them to patient and clinic services. Supervise nursing functions as delegated. Participate in onboarding of new employees and cross‑training of established employees. Collaborate with and provide coverage at health centers as needed. Administer mild and moderate sedation. Assist physicians with surgical procedures, monitor patient stability, and perform macroscopic exams post‑procedure. Perform ultrasound medical services per PPNCS Medical Standards and Guidelines. Supervise and assess patient post‑procedure recovery. Perform other clinical skills within scope of training and applicable state laws. Immunization Requirements Hepatitis B vaccination records. MMR vaccination records or proof of immunization. Tuberculosis PPD Skin Test not older than 12 months.
