This role is remote unless you live within 30 miles of a FlexTG office—then the role is hybrid (in office 3 days per week ). Salary Range $100,000–$160,000, dependent on location and experience level. Position Summary FlexTG is seeking a skilled and forward‑thinking Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platform components within Microsoft Fabric. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring data used for analytics and machine learning is reliable, governed, and high performing. You’ll collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to support model development, deployment, and ongoing data operations. Key Responsibilities Data Platform Development Design and manage Lakehouse architectures in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake; medallion/layered patterns) Develop and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines using Data Factory, Spark notebooks, and SQL Administer and optimize Fabric workloads, including capacity, workspaces, and platform components AI & ML Enablement Partner with DBAs and data analysts to deliver ML‑ready datasets, feature stores, and inference pipelines Operationalize machine learning models for batch and streaming workloads Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for model deployment and lifecycle management Implement data quality checks, drift monitoring, lineage tracking, and reproducibility standards Governance & Quality Manage metadata, lineage, and access controls using Microsoft Purview and Fabric governance tools Define and enforce data quality SLAs, validation rules, and observability practices Support data profiling and anomaly detection to ensure data reliability Performance & Optimization Optimize Spark and SQL workloads for scalability and cost efficiency (partitioning, caching, file formats) Monitor pipeline performance, throughput, and cost; implement alerting and recovery strategies Continuously improve platform performance and reliability Document engineering standards and develop reusable assets (templates, notebooks, scripts) Collaborate cross‑functionally to align data initiatives with business goals Mentor team members on Fabric best practices, data engineering patterns, and MLOps concepts Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering workflows Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Spark notebooks) and Power BI integration Solid understanding of modern data formats and engines (Delta Lake, Parquet, Spark) Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks (Microsoft Purview, RBAC) Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing for data solutions Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating Microsoft Fabric with Azure services (ADLS, Azure SQL/MI, Event Hubs, Synapse) Exposure to feature stores, MLflow‑style tracking, and MLOps practices (model registry, monitoring) Knowledge of Power BI semantic models, dataset optimization, and Direct Lake/DirectQuery patterns Experience with streaming data architectures and near real‑time processing Additional Requirements Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
