Director of Finance And Accounting

We are seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting/CFO to lead a small start-up poised for significant growth. This position will oversee the global financial planning and analysis, accounting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, risk management, and financial reporting, while serving as a key strategic partner to the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board of Directors. This position will play a critical role in strengthening financial infrastructure, developing long-term financial strategies, supporting financing activities, and providing the insights and discipline necessary to drive sustainable growth and maximize shareholder value. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant experience developing long-term financial plans, annual operating plans, budgets, and rolling forecasts. Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing core accounting and financial management functions, preferably within a small or growth-stage company operating in a multi-entity environment. Experience managing or overseeing accounting operations across multiple entities and/or geographies. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting and financial management systems preferred. International finance and accounting experience strongly preferred, particularly experience working with international accounting partners or operations. Demonstrated experience supporting debt and equity financing, investor relations, and financial due diligence. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations. Proven ability to operate strategically while maintaining hands-on involvement in day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities Financial Planning, Analysis & Strategy Lead the company’s global financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Develop and maintain long-term financial models and strategic financial plans aligned with company objectives. Lead regular forecast updates and annual operating planning processes, providing management with actionable insights and financial alternatives. Monitor the company’s overall financial health and identify opportunities to optimize cash flow, operating performance, and financial results. Partner closely with the CEO, CIO, and senior leadership team to evaluate strategic initiatives, operating plans, investments, and resource allocation. Accounting & Financial Operations Oversee the company’s global accounting and financial operations, including coordination with the contract accounting partner. Lead the month-end close process for U.S. operations and oversee the consolidation of global financial results. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and management information. Treasury, Financing & Investor Relations Work closely with the CEO on financial due diligence and financing activities, including debt and equity transactions. Lead cash management and liquidity planning to ensure the company has the resources necessary to execute its strategic and operating plans. Coordinate financial reporting and responses to debt partners, investors, and corporate partners. Partner with the CEO and legal counsel on the company’s equity management system, cap table administration, and investor-related financial inquiries. Prepare clear, concise financial summaries and presentations for the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance Develop and lead the company’s global financial risk management strategy. Oversee compliance with applicable financial, accounting, and tax regulations, in coordination with U.S. and offshore accounting and tax advisors. Partner with external advisors and legal counsel to ensure appropriate financial controls, governance, and compliance practices are in place. Identify emerging financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Leadership & Business Partnership Serve as a key member of the senior management team and contribute to overall company strategy and direction. Partner with the CEO, CIO, and senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable financial and operating plans. Build financial capabilities, processes, and infrastructure that can scale with the company’s growth.
