The City of Boca Raton is seeking an experienced Assistant Traffic Engineer to support transportation planning, traffic operations, and multimodal mobility initiatives. This is a high-impact role working on development review, roadway level of service, Vision Zero, complete streets, and capital improvement projects in a growing coastal city.

What Youll Do

Conduct traffic studies, transportation analyses, and mobility planning
Review development projects and traffic impact analyses
Support Vision Zero and complete streets initiatives
Manage consultants and transportation projects
Respond to resident traffic concerns and safety requests
Assist with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects
Collaborate with FDOT, Palm Beach County, and local stakeholders
Supervise staff or consultants and support division operations

What You Bring

Bachelors degree in Civil, Traffic, or Transportation Engineering
5+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience
3+ years in a lead or supervisory role
Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain FL PE within 1 year)
Experience with traffic modeling/software (Synchro, HCS, SIDRA preferred)

Preferred

Experience with complete streets or multimodal projects

Additional Requirements

Valid Florida drivers license
Ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
