Summary

The Forklift Operator is in charge of loading and unloading materials, both incoming and outgoing of the facility. 

Job Description:

• Evaluate items on packet for accuracy
• Locate and pull stone slabs to prepare for fabrication
• Allocate slabs in inventory 
• Unload shipping containers safely.
• Inspect slabs for cracks.
• Follows safe work practices and observes safety rules and precautions

• Follow all forklift safety policies and procedures
• Relocate items within the warehouse or factory.
• Maneuvering forklift slabs safely in a busy environment.
• Keep the Warehouse clean, organized, and safe by ensuring that remnants and deliveries are put in the correct location and that everything is stored neatly and safely.
• Performs general maintenance and daily preventative equipment checks to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
• Organize and sort incoming deliveries of slabs. 
• Evaluate items against packets for accuracy, including job number and color.
• Clean and store all equipment at the end of the shift
• Secure loads to prevent damage or drops
• Remove empty containers, cardboard packing, and strapping and deposit items in the proper receptacles.
• Locate and label stone slabs to prepare for fabrication.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, OSHA programs and company policies, procedures
• Perform other duties to support the company's goals and mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure

Education and Experience:

• High school Diploma or GED
• Warehouse And Manufacturing Experience Preferred
• A year or more of recent, verifiable forklift experience.

• Must be able to work in excessive heat, dampness, and cold

Physical Demands

To perform the essential functions of this role, you must be able to:

-Stand for long periods.
-Bend at the knees and waist.
-Regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and move 50 lbs. (or more with assistance)
-Regularly push and pull objects, push carts, and other equipment.
