Part Time, Hourly $18.50 - $20.35 per hour. The Role As a Cook/Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide meal preparation for the people Brightway supports and ensure the spaces in which the people Brightway supports live are clean and safe. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a tangible difference. What You'll Do Heavy cleaning of entire house and windows, daily or weekly, as required. Including, but not limited to: Bathrooms: sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, walls and floors. Kitchens: floors, countertops, walls, all appliances, including refrigerator, stove, toaster, microwave, tables & chairs, pantries and cabinets. All common areas such as the living room, dining room, recreation/TV room, medicine room, hallways, stairways, bedrooms, office, other indoor areas, deck/porch. Meal preparation, cooking, shopping, and meal planning in coordination with menus prepared by a Nutritionist: Ensure rotation of perishable foods, discarding expired tainted foods regularly. Follow all menus and make substitutions according to the exchange list. Report any maintenance needs or hazardous conditions to Manager or Maintenance personnel. Notify supervisor immediately if house or appliances need repair. Help schedule and plan parties for special occasions. Answer telephone in a courteous and professional manner and take appropriate messages. Be familiar with and follow OMRDD regulations regarding food, kitchen area and cleanliness of house. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor. What You Bring Ability to read, understand, and follow safety guidelines. Ability to use and dispose of household cleaning products safely. Ability to work well with staff members and the individuals we support. Ability to cook following menus and meal preparation guidelines. Ability to use appropriate tools for general housecleaning. Ability to operate housecleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet shampoo machine. Physical capability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs., bend, twist, kneel, and walk to shop for supplies and perform housekeeping duties.
